No gi passing

Mike told me about the whole passing to half guard philosophy.

In no gi, it is very difficult to pass from open guard to side control unless you are a lot better than your opponent. The game is a lot more loose, and it's easier for them to escape and replace guard.

If you force half guard first, you get tighter on them and begin to wear them down more. From here, you are able to pass more easily than if you tried to pass all at once.
