Patience with the double under smash pass

AM class

techniques

-ankle pick
-back attack- straight collar choke, RNC
-back escape

rolling

positives-

got to the back a few times.

defended the pass well. half butterfly is good.

got the grips off me right away. started attacking bent arm locks, guillotines, etc., which allowed me to transition to take the back.

started to attack with the shin to kill the arm as i go around on the pass.

figured out the way to transition to straight arm lock vs. an omoplata when the opponent keeps the arm straight- just kick the leg over and take the arm! also, figured out some rubber guard options.

foot in the hip is nice to keep them stretched out and far away while still broken down in posture. i switch to the high guard with shin control when they start to try to jump over that knee.

could be improved-

-double under stack pass- i am getting too anxious once i start to come around and end up doing it too loosely and quickly. i need to sprawl more and just let them suffer through the pass. knee to the face!

-arm drag- gotta commit to it more once i drag them.

-against the stack in my closed guard- got stalled out and couldn't really do much. much larger opponent. actually got bent arm locked from my guard, which was weak. next time- butterfly hooks? perhaps gotta learn that overhead elevator sweep.

-back harness- i don't think i'm securing the harness as i get the hooks. or perhaps i could stick to the back tighter. i may be leaving space and not closing the gap enough between chest and back.

-half butterfly sweep- forgot the underhook leg! gotta get more familiar here.

-submission/sweep combos. need to work on these! i miss a submission and just go back to guard control. gotta attack sweeps when they are off balance and before they recover posture.
